Toyo Tires Officially Announce 20″ R-Compound Proxes R888
Well Toyo have gone and officially announced the release of the 20″ Proxes R888 in sizes suitable for the Nissan GT-R. These are officially the first R-Compound tire available for sale suitable for the GT-R and go on sale at all Toyo Tires dealers across the US.

Toyo Tires® Releases First R-Compound, 20-Inch Tires for Nissan GT-R
CYPRESS, CALIFORNIA — Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. has introduced two new 20-inch sizes in the Toyo Proxes R888, making them the first to offer R-compound tires for the new Nissan GT-R. Originally previewed at the 2008 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, the 285/35ZR20 (100Y) front and 315/30ZR20 (101Y) rear fitments are now available at authorized Toyo Tires dealers across the United States.
Toyo Proxes R888 Tires Available in Nissan GT-R Sizes Soon?
It might have been a bit of a long wait since SEMA 2008 until now but it may just be worth it. According to several suppliers around the net, the semi-slick R888’s will be available in Nissan GT-R suitable sizes like “real soon now”. GT-RR.com are taking calls now and Hashimoto Corp in Japan are already showing off their sets.
Sizes of 285/35-20 and 315/30-20 will be available and after nearly a year of perfecting the formula lets hope these are the perfect compliment to your GT-R whether your a casual track-goer or a utter nutcase for it.
