Widebody GT-Rs Part II: Abflug
In the last post, we brought you the new widebody aero from Axell Auto. In this next installment of GT-R Blog’s feature on widebody GT-Rs, we have the second wide aero kit that debuted at TAS 2011.
This second kit comes from Abflug, a Japanese tuner renowned for their creative and revolutionary aero designs. Their GT-R kit keeps that reputation alive with its large-mouth front bumper, wide blister fenders and R8-style ducting in the rear bumper.
The “kit” is currently being sold piece-by-piece, with FRP and carbon variations, depending on the part. Also available is a new high-mount rear wing that replaces the OEM wing, but retains the side base mounts.
For more photos of the car and information regarding all the individual pieces, please visit Abflug’s website.

Tommy Kaira Ebbrezza-R Aero Kit Version 2 Now Available
More updates from Tommy Kaira this week, hot on the heels of their Ebbrezza-R global product launch they’ve released pricing on the version 2 kit. This kit will feature the exact same aggressive design as the original Ebbrezza-R GT-R we got our first look at earlier in the year but will be feature key pieces fabricated in FRP to drive down the overall cost.
You may recall that Tommy Kaira have recently switched their marketing strategy up so that customers can purchase any individual piece of the kit they desire, but they also make available groups of parts in sub-kits on top of the traditional full kit.
For the Ebbrezza-R GT-R Version 2, customers will notice that the following pieces are now made from FRP:
Part | Ebbrezza-R Version 1 | Ebbrezza-R Version 2 |
Front Under Diffuser | Wet Carbon | FRP |
Side Step Kit | FRP+Wet Carbon | FRP |
Rear Underspoiler | Wet Carbon | FRP |
Rear Fender Arch Extension | Wet Carbon | FRP |
* Full parts list in our previous post or at GT-RR.com |
This brings the prices for the kit down overall a healthy amount, for example, for the Front Style Kit which includes the Front Bumper, Front Under Diffuser, Front Lip Spoiler, Front Grille Cover, and Side Ducts you’ll pay just 525,000 yen. Thats down over 100,000 yen versus the version 1 kit.
The price savings grow when you look at the Full Ebbrezza-R Aero Kit though which is down to just 1,260,000 yen in Japan ($13,950 in the US). A saving of 420,000 yen versus version 1!
Combine this with the new global distribution partners and I think we’ll see a few more Tommy Kaira Ebbrezza-R GT-Rs globally shortly!
Tokyo AutoSalon 2010: TommyKaira GT-R Buildup Continues
The tension builds as we get nearer and nearer to Tokyo AutoSalon 2010. I leave for Tokyo this weekend so personally I’m pretty damn excited too. About the show, seeing old friends but also about checking out what TommyKaira have been up to with their GT-R.
On the news front, you can see a little more work has been done getting the parts on the car. A full custom TommyKaira brake kit has also been developed along with a suspension setup from Quantum.
We know that the guys at TommyKaira also plan to splash red leather liberally around the interior, including on the seats which will be replaced with some SpecV-esque Recaros.
Stay tuned for a full spread of photos from the mornings press preview at Tokyo AutoSalon on the 15th of January…

Abflug Complete Aero Kit for Nissan GT-R
While I had my doubts after seeing the Abflug concept at Tokyo AutoSalon 2009 that this would ever come together, the styling masters at Abflug have done it.
They’ve built some unique pieces here. The front lip is my favorite part and the subtle sideskirts work in the car’s favor. The riskiest part – the rear diffuser and underspoiler ALMOST works but seems ultimately spoiled by the mesh sides and corners.
The full aero kit consists of the front lip spoiler, sideskirts, rear diffuser / underspoiler and rear wing. A full front bumper is planned for earl 2010.
Thanks to advan for the tip.

BRANEW Customer Cars: Dynamic Version Aero
BRANEW have sold a few of their controversially styled Dynamic Version aero kits now and here’s a couple of photos of the latest installs on customer cars.
First up is the white with black grille insert look on black wheels. Since all we’ve seen so far of this kit is the white with silver demo car the white on black is just a small departure. The difference it makes is huge however and I think there’s no better way to do this kit.
Next up is the Dark Metal Grey GT-R again with Dynamic Version BRANEW front bumper. Click through the photo gallery below to see that as well as the BRANEW Black Edition demo car.
