AMS Alpha GT-Rs In Record Breaking Territory Again: 9.1 @ 163 mph and More
Forget everything you read about Nissan GT-R quarter mile records because AMS just went and rewrote the book. They not only just smashed their own quarter mile ET record but they blew up the current Mph record as well.
With time to tweak the car since the first 9.33 second outing back in early October the guys took the car back to the track and managed a best time of 9.192 at 163.12 mph. Over two tenths quicker and a full 10 mph faster down the strip than their previous Alpha-10 best time. A serious improvement and seriously closer to 8 seconds.
Not content with just setting the outright quarter mile records all in one day they also went on to break the pump gas R35 quarter mile record in the Alpha-9 package GT-R. The Alpha-9 GT-R is the Nissan GT-R to dip into the 9’s on pump gas with a 9.95 ET @ 141.01 mph.
One of the best things about the AMS’s Alpha GT-Rs isn’t related to how damn fast they are but how streetable they remain with all that grunt under the hood. After running 9’s in the Alpha-9 the guys will begin an epic cross USA roadtrip beginning in Chicago, driving through Colorado and Nevada and ending up in SoCal. Over 2,000 miles of cross country driving with a full writeup expected. Check the video below for a taste of the Alpha-10’s daily drivability…
AMS Nissan GT-R Alpha 10 Package
Acceleration that leaves you breathless. Speed like nothing you have experienced. A power package that will leave any Super Car in its wake.
Over Twice The Horsepower Of A Stock GT-R Yet Mild Mannered For Daily Driving
The AMS Alpha 10 package for the Nissan GT-R combines the stock like driveablity of the Nissan GT-R with 1100+ horsepower. Typically power like this comes at the cost of reliability and comfort. That is not the case with the Alpha 10 as every aspect of this package was fine tuned to allow for a true Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Your GT-R will go from mild mannered and streetable one moment to white knuckled power the next.

AMS Alpha 10 Nissan GT-R Sets New R35 Quarter Mile Record
Something pretty exciting is happening over in Chicago lately. The first of the AMS Alpha-10 Package fitted GT-Rs is making it’s track debut trying to set new standards for ultra fast GT-Rs.
In it’s first outing, this complete street trim GT-R reeled off a 9.523 @ 150.62 mph. Well enough to get kicked off the track for not having a full cage, hell it’s quick enough not to technically be allowed near a drag strip without a parachute but even that wasn’t quick enough.
With some obvious smooth talking the guys were able to get one last run in and backed it up with an even more amazing 9.33 @ 153 mph!! The car made around 900awhp on AMS‘ dyno before the run.
The amount of mind bending acceleration generated by this car is difficult to grasp, AMS put together the above teaser video showing just the gauges to give you an idea but it’s hard to compute.
What’s crazier still is the Alpha GT-R range doesn’t stop here, a bigger, faster, more powerful Alpha-12 GT-R is still in the works. An 8 second club is in sight from here…
Huge congrats to Tim, the owner and big ups to AMS and Sheptrans for their work on these behemoths.

Battle of the Mega Godzillas Heats Up: SPE1000 and Switzer R1K Dynos
Two huge builds are reaching tipping points in the GT-R world this week with big news from two prominent tuners that the 1000awhp barrier has been effectively reached. In one case it’s even been poked with a sharp stick.
First up from Switzer was the announcement that their R1K prototype build has reeled off a 1005awhp dyno pull at 32 – 34.5 psi of boost running VP C16 fuel. To get this level of power the R1K package will feature custom manifolds, and a pair of big Garret watercooled turbochargers fitted with external wastegates. Switzer are also quick to point out that this tune is not right on the ragged edge. Conservative timing and boost settings are deliberately chosen for durability.
Hot on the heels of the R1K update, SP Engineering announced that their SPE1000 build has bumped its head against the limit of it’s ID 1000cc injectors at 997awhp (886 lb/ft of torque). They ran 30psi of boost for the pull on C16 fuel. ID 2000cc injectors are due to be fitted shortly to sort that and back on the dyno to make it an official round 1000awhp … or more…
So yes, it’s huge news and it won’t stop coming any time soon with AMS set to have their own 1000whp Alpha GT-R demons on the dyno in the not too distant future.
Right now it’s a little too close to call who will win down at the track and that really is where the where the winner will be decided. Can’t wait to see it!

AMS Nissan GT-R Alpha Performance Upgrade Packages
Looks like AMS Performance are readying a range of new performance packages for the Nissan GT-R under their new Alpha brand. The Alpha 6 and 9 packages are already available on their website along with a new video showing just what the Alpha 9 is capable of on pump gas.
Featured in the video below is the Alpha 9 package described by AMS as such:
The AMS Alpha 9 package for your Nissan GTR offers the most reliable bolt-on horse power available and we have the 9 second time slips to back it up. This package offers stock-like turbo spool up while boosting power output to an astounding 900 horsepower on race gas and 800 on pump gas.
That pump gas horsepower is good to get you 10.1 @ 138 down the quarter mile. That’s a confirmed 9 sec quarter on race gas. This is all done while maintaining the OEM finish and using only the best quality parts.
