SuperGT Round 3 Fuji Speedway 500km Race

Round three of Japan’s SuperGT series is coming up this Sunday, May 4th at the 4.5km long Fuji Speedway. Racing at the event will be the Nissan GT-R SuperGT GT500 class cars who have thus far cleaned up 1st and 2nd position in rounds 1 and 2 of their debut season.

As per the rules of the SuperGT format the winning Xanavi/Nismo GT-R is carrying even more weight penalty this round. A huge 115kg’s is added to the base weight. The Calsonic/IMPUL GT-R has 30kg penalty and the Motul/Autech GT-R carries a 20kg weight penalty.

Practice kicks off on Friday, 2nd of May with initial timings available after each of the two practice sessions which usually gives a hint to how well each team is prepared.

Qualifying will happen on Saturday, after 2 qualifying sessions the top 10 cars will compete in a Super Lap battle at 3.45pm to determine their top 10 grid positions. Winner of the Super Lap will start in pole. Sunday will see teams have one more practice and finally the race start is scheduled for 2pm JST.
