SuperGT Round 2 Okayama 300km Race – Sunday

April 7, 2008

Round two of Japan’s national SuperGT race series is coming up this Sunday 13th of April at the 3.7km long Okayama International Circuit. The 300km race will feature GT500 and GT300 class race cars including the Nissan GT-R GT500 teams such as Xanavi/Nismo, Woodone/Advan, Calsonic/Impul and others.

As we know from our coverage of Suzuka Circuit’s SuperGT round 1, GT-R’s are already in the championship lead after taking 1st and 2nd places in that race. Let’s see if they can repeat history and win every race this season.

Events start Saturday 12th April with qualifying, practice and super laps as well as other special events. The race itself starts Sunday at 2pm running until about 4pm JST for a total of 82 laps.

It should be interesting to see if the Okayama lap record for GT500 class will continue to stand at 1’22.404 after this weekend.
