SuperGT series 2008 Round 7 is on this weekend and as usual GTRBlog is bringing you an update on how the GT-Rs performed in Friday pre-race practice sessions. The race is 300km around the 4.8km Motegi Circuit.

These practice sessions are timed to give the teams data on how their current setups are doing. It also gives us an idea on who to look out for in qualifying.

Today’s morning and afternoon sessions were dominated by the Nissan GT-R of team YellowHat YMS TOMICA #3 GT-R setting the fastest time in both practice sessions dipping into the 1:44 region a full two seconds faster than the nearest competitor. This is certainly a team to watch in qualifying.

The next fastest GT-R was the Nismo XANAVI #23 GT-R which managed the 6th fastest lap time in practice.

Qualification begins tomorrow as well as more practice sessions with the race being held on Sunday. Stay tuned for updates and results as they happen.
