COBB Tuning Nissan GT-R at Modified Mag Tuner Shoot Out 2008

May 26, 2008

The National Auto Sport Association (NASA) held the Modified Mag Tuner Shoot Out event this Saturday 24th May at the Firebird International Raceway. The COBB Tuning Nissan R35 GT-R was invited to participate in the AWD class of the event alongside Subaru STIs from workshops such as LIC Motorsports and GST Motorsports.

The GT-R did well managing a 502awhp@6500rpm and 480lb-ft@3750 rpm of torque on the dyno (see chart after the jump) and an 11.39 ET down the drag strip with a lot of wheel spin off the line. As for the time attack results, we will update with these shortly.

As for modifications, well we don’t know much, the exhaust does not sound standard but certainly looks standard so perhaps some decat front pipes have been organised. COBB have also probably tweaked the ECU and raised the boost a little although no confirmation yet. They have obviously painted some standard wheels gold as well as fitted up a seperate set of Volk Rays Progressive wheels with some semi comp Toyo Proxes R888 tires.

For now click through the jump to see the photo gallery.
