Nissan GT-R Priced for Australia – Pre-Orders from October 9th
Nissan Australia have published the press release we’ve been waiting for downunder. The GT-R is officially priced and pre-order schedule is announced. Among other things there is also some exciting news about the Australian specifications.
First up the bottom line, the GT-R will be priced at $148,800 AUD for the base model. And yes there will be two models. The Premium model will come in at $152,800 AUD.
Colour choices will span the entire range, Super Silver, Vibrant Red, Gun Mettalic, Black Obsidian, Titanium and Ivory Pearl. So we aren’t missing out there.
Wheels and tyres are identical in specification to the Japanese specification except for the availability of optional smoke/dark wheels on the base. Looks like thats a premium model only feature as in the US.
Nissan sticks to it’s NHPC (Nissan High Performance Center) dealership formula, nominating up to two or three dealerships per state that will be GT-R certified.
These are dealerships in:
- NSW: Campbelltown, Brookvale
- VIC: Ferntree Gulley, Werribee
- SA: Nailsworth
- WA: Melville, Wangara
- QLD: Moorooka, Southport, Mackay
- TAS: Hobart
Rumours that the Australian version would lose certain features or be watered down look to be incorrect thankfully and the GT-R will be just as potent when it hits our shores. Brakes, tyres, wheels, and engine power match that of global models so far delivered.
Additionally, the Australian delivered Nissan GT-R Premium model will feature the black and red leather/alcantara seats of the Japanese spec Black-Edition. Quite good news that.
Nissan will be taking pre-orders from the first day of the upcoming Sydney Motor Show, October 9th 2008 and the Nissan GT-R will go on sale in April 2009.
