Nismo Omori Factory Re-Opening Event This Weekend
Nismo Omori Factory represents a bit of a holy ground for some of us who make the annual or even more regular pilgrimage to Japan for various reasons.
Set just a few minutes from Omorikaigan railway station on the highway, the unassuming campus of buildings hides a peaceful park with a lake just behind. It’s a great place to sit and relax and de-stress. And you’d be stressed too if you made the trip and found the place to be closed as I have a few times. Well now you wont need to be as it’s re-opening event is on this weekend!
I still make the trip every time I’m in Japan because it’s always worthwhile. Spending a few moments taking in the sights of the workshop through the windows and you’ll likely see something great. Last time I hung out there for a while I was surprised when the 2007 SuperGT GT500 XANAVI Nismo Z was wheeled out onto a truck for an event. Shortly after that a Nismo Z-Tune R34 GT-R rumbled past when the Nismo technician had to take it for a spin to diagnose a suspension setup issue.
Anyways what this means to some of us is we can finally go back to Omori Factory and pickup some Nismo merchandise and checkout the latest cars from Nismo, including the Club Sport R35 GT-R without travelling too far from Tokyo.
