March 10, 2009

If you’re like me you’re already sitting on the edge of your seat anticipating how the GT1 GT-R is going to look when it’s ready to race in it’s first shakedown non-championship entry race this FIA GT season. Well today we’ve learned the first entry race of 2009 for the GT1 Nissan GT-R.

Sunday May 3rd, 2009, 54 days from today is the day the GT-R returns to GT racing. This is race 1 of the FIA GT Championship series for 2009 to be held at Silverstone Circuit in the UK. Michael Krumm and Darren Turner will drive the GT1 specification NISMO developed Nissan R35 GT-R for the race in a non-championship contesting capacity in order to further test and develop the car.

That’s not all, one further race the GT-R will be featuring in is confirmed for Germany later in the year, on Sunday the 21st of June 2009 at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben in Oschersleben, Germany. This will be round three of the FIA GT Championship series for 2009.

The GT-R will participate in two further races which we will confirm at a later date when the official entry list is found.
