COBB Tuning Redline Time Attack &Live Sockets Battle Results

August 13, 2008

Back in July we ran a story on COBB entering in the Redline Time Attack event as well as the Live Sockets battle. Well the contest has come and gone and the results were kept quiet until recently. With today’s COBB Tuning blog post we can now post up how they did.

In the Redline Time Attack event, many of the attempts to set a solid lap time were met with traffic on the track. Frustratingly it was only in the last session that a clean laptime was set. In the end, only 0.1 seconds off the podium, behind some seriously modified cars, they finished fourth. Check out the full story here.

In the Live Sockets battle, they were matched up against the Focus Auto Sales modified R34 GT-R in a sort of “mountainless touge” battle. Which really just means touge style rules on a racetrack. Due to some mistakes on the R34’s drivers part the COBB R35 won the first lap. The R34 made a great attempt during the second lap and beat the R35’s time but he just could not make up the deficit after the error on lap #1. LiveSockets plan on posting a video of the event soon.
