GTC’s GT-R: Europe’s First Tuned R35
Ben Linney has been busy collecting parts for his Nissan GT-R over the recent months and has gone and fitted them up and run it on the dyno recently out at Perfect Touch. The results are good making 452.8 hp at all four wheels at 6,187 rpm. So far GTC are using a Sunline Racing GTspec TiTANIUM SR exhaust and a straight through front pipe. This setup deletes two of the four catalytic converters and improves flow as well as giving the car a great exhaust note.
Ben has also used a Cobb Tunning AccessPORT (beta version) to delimit the standard ECU. Tires have been replaced with Cooper Tires Zeon 2XS which are lighter than the standard Bridgestones by a considerable margin.
Next up GTC are looking to fit Power House Amuse R1000-No.1 Turbine Outlets to delete the remaining two catalytic converters.

Sunline Racing GTspec TiTANIUM RS Exhaust
We first saw the titanium range of Sunline exhausts for R35 GT-R back in March 08 when Ben from GTC-R fitted one up to his new Nissan GT-R. That was the Sunline GTspec TiTANIUM SR street spec exhaust. Sunline also have a circuit spec exhaust the GTspec RS shown above which we haven’t featured here yet. You can see it’s still all titanium but with even less material so it’s lighter again. There are less bends so it should flow better and it’s significantly louder to boot.
The benefit of using less titanium is also a reduction in price. The stree spec GTspec SR retails at 339,000 yen ($3,300 USD) while this circuit spec GTspec RS comes in at just 268,000 yen ($2,600).
The competition front pipes to go with it (deleting two of the four cats) cost 149,100 yen RRP ($1,400 USD).

Hot Version 92: Sunline Attacks
Best Motoring Hot Version Vol.92 is due out any moment now and while it’s probably not a must for the R35 enthusiasts it does have an interesting few features.
Sunline Racing take their R35 GT-R out to Okayama International Circuit to act as a camera car for a local racing challenge and then finishes off with a time attack around the 3.7km track.

Sunline Exhaust for GTC’s GT-R
Ben Linney has stepped on the very slippery slope of spending big money on his GT-R already and has a magnificent Sunline GTspecEX Titanium exhaust on the way from Japan. He put up some photos on the GT-R UK forums for us to drool over until it arrives in the UK.
He also received some HKS Kansai racing tow hooks which we hope he never needs to use and some HKS Kansai lowering seat rails.

Sunline Back at TI Circuit Aida with a 1:41
Track testing their new de-cat front pipes on Saturday Sunline have produced a laptime of 1 minute 41 seconds around TI Circuit Aida with a set of worn Dunlop tyres. This is about 1 second faster than their previous best at this circuit of 1:42.
During the testing Sunline used both the OEM Bridgestone tyres as well as the Dunlops and found the Dunlops to produce consistently better lap times while sacrificing longevity of the tyres. It’s estimated by Sunline that the Dunlops would be good for just 30 laps while the Bridgestone’s would go 50.
For the test they also fitted up a new Bride GIAS seat for evaluation noting that it provided a good driving position.
Sunline Racing De-Cat Front Pipes
Sunline racing are testing some prototype de-cat titanium front pipes for their red R35 GT-R. Expected power with this modification plus their existing rear exhaust section is 520 – 530ps and should be tested this weekend.
According to a translation from Spider Godwin of the UK GTR-Register forums the car is sound more “racy” now with a “dry” note that only titanium can give. If you have ever heard a GT-R with a titanium exhaust you will know that it is one of the most amazing sounds. The exhaust is apparently still within legal decibel limits however it of course would not pass shaken inspection due to the removal of the catalytic converters.

Sunline R35 GT-R Posts 1.42 at TI Circuit Aida, Sports New Rims
Sunline Racing have been busy since they set their previous laptime at TI Circuit fitting up a new set of 20″ Work rims and Dunlop tyres. Yesterday they again set out on TI Circuit at the year-end track day and driver Yasu Kikuchi set a 1.42 which is 3 seconds faster than the last time.
The car is also looking noticeably lower in these pics.

Sunline Racing R35 GT-R Posts 2:22 Lap of Suzuka Circuit & 1:45 Lap at TI Circuit Aida
Sunline Racing is being reported to have lapped Suzuka Circuit in a standard R35 GT-R in 2:22:280 which is amazingly fast. The GT-R was placed in circuit mode for the lap and was driven by Eiji “Tarzan” Yamada of Sunline Racing.
To put this laptime into perspective we have the following list of cars and their respective Suzuka Circuit lap times.

2. Ferrari F50 2:26.52 Best Motoring
