C-West Release Carbon Lineup for Nissan GT-R
Japanese aero legends C-West have been teasing us with promises of their new aero kit since December last year and finally the wait to see what they’ve been busy creating is over.
Tastefully modeled in these photos on a Brilliant White Nissan GT-R SpecV, the C-West GT-R Aero lineup consists of a front half spoiler, side skirts and rear under finishers. A trunk lid and original design rear spoiler is currently under development.
Each of these new items is available in three constructions, a fibreglass reinforced plastic version (FRP) a polyfibre reinforced plastic (PFRP) and finally, a carbon fibre version.
Part | FRP Price | PFRP Price | Carbon Price |
Front Half Spoiler | 45,150 yen | 49,350 yen | 90,300 yen |
Side Skirts | 63,000 yen | 67,200 yen | 126,000 yen |
Rear Under Finishers | 27,300 yen | 31,500 yen | 47,250 yen |
Interesting look although it’s getting tougher to compete in the GT-R front-lip marketspace these days with so many quality contenders entering their parts.
What do you guys think of the C-West design? Too little too late?

FIA GT: Nissan GT-R Returns to the 24hrs of Spa for Round Four 2009
The highlight of the summer for the FIA GT 2009 championships is coming up this weekend, the Total 24hrs of Spa in Belgium. This race marks the third out of four total races that the 2010 GT1 specification Nissan GT-R is entered in this year as part of the development program. This year is not the first time a GT-R has contested the Spa 24hrs, back in 1991 the Zexel Group A R32 GT-R won the race outright. While this year it’s all about developing the Nissan GT-R for the 2010 championship season and just finishing the grueling 24hrs, it’s sure going to bring an smile to European Nissan fans faces to see the GT-R back out there.
The FIA GT1 specification Nissan GT-R has come quite a ways since the program inception and has now over 10,000 km of track testing under it’s belt. Team Nismo / Gigawave seem confident that reliability is improving every race but, while they did finish round #3 at Oschersleben in Germany, there is a very big gap between that and a 24hr endurance event.
Spa is one of the most challenging tracks in the world. Full concentration is required on every corner here not to make a mistake. Because many corners are extremely high-speed, a mistake normally means the end of the race. Hence to race for over 24 hours at Spa is extremely exciting. Our target is of course to make it over the whole distance, not an easy target for a new car, but we will do everything in our power to achieve that goal. The Nissan GT-R is getting faster and more reliable at each event and so we hope to make another step forward for this all-important race at Spa!
– Michael Krumm, Driver, Nismo
To bolster the ranks for the race, Nismo have added ex Formula 1 driver Anthony Davidson as the third driver for the race. Overall it should be a great race, the circuit is amazing, the weather is unpredictable and the GT-R is involved.

And Tonight On “Tuning a Mid-10 Second GT-R” With Your Host Forged Performance…
Kind of related to the previous story, although not featuring the exact same car, this short video presented by Sharif from Forged Performance shows what sort of technology and hardware goes into building and then tuning a quick Nissan GT-R.
Taking a look under that hood was interesting, these guys are making mid-10’s look pretty damn easy these days!
Great job Sharif you should do more of these.
AMS Sponsored GT-R Pump Gas Quarter Mile Record
Seems like the big power GT-R scene has matured somewhat of late and quarter mile times are both falling and requiring less experimentation to get there. The AMS sponsored GT-R in the video above has run a 10.69 @ 132 mph on 93 octane gas making it the fastest run on pump gas according to AMS. What’s more is the list of modifications is quite brief and it was done on the standard Bridgestone runflat tires.
So what goes into an AMS built tuned mid 10’s on stock tires Nissan GT-R? Here’s the modifications list:
- AMS Turbo upgrade
- AMS Downpipes
- AMS Midpipe and prototype Catback Exhaust
- Deatschwerks 800cc injectors
- HKS EVC boost controller
- AMS/Forged Performance tune using the Cobb Access port.
- Willall transmission cooler
That’s all… Crazy eh!?

Password:JDM Release Ultimate Front Lip Spoiler for Nissan GT-R
It’s a big call but when you see what this front lip has to offer I’m sure you’ll agree that this is the ultimate in aero parts for your GT-R’s front end.
The Password:JDM front lip is constructed from dry carbon fibre reinforced with honeycomb matrix that’s designed to be extremely durable. This is no museum piece and is designed for guys who are going to drive their cars and occasionally, you know, meet a speed hump or, god forbid, drive up their steep driveway.
This lip is also completely modular, and has loads of options to choose from. You can fit strakes, brake ducting, skid plates and add on splitters to enhance the look and, more importantly, the functionality of the lip. Above you can see it in it’s raw form and below with the add on splitter fitted.
We mentioned brake ducts earlier and that is going to be interesting for a few of you. The GT-R sure could use some cooling on the brakes and this offers it in spades. The full carbon brake ducts again bolt onto the underside of the lip and force air onto the calipers
If strakes are your thing then Password:JDM give you that option as well with a set that easily bolt up to enhance downforce at the front.
So I’m pretty sure many of you will agree on this being the ultimate front lip and if you’re keen to get one head over to the Password:JDM website to contact them. We don’t have pricing or delivery dates yet but we’ll let you know as soon as we do.

Nissan Announce SpecV GT-R for European Market
Nissan has decided to go ahead and setup shop on the new ring boulevard at the Nurburgring in Germany with a new concept store known as “Nissan Sportscars Shop”. On display is a Nissan GT-R, a 370z Nurburgring edition and the European specification Nissan GT-R SpecV.
Sales are expected to begin this year but pricing is not yet known.
Will Nissan let the world know the SpecV Nurburgring laptime at the European SpecV launch? Makes sense to me!
