Mini Update: Garage Saurus New Rims, Fox News Story on Houston Motor Show
Garage Saurus continue their run of strange taste in wheels with some pretty unattractive looking chrome wheels. They are Yokohama Connoisseur 151C in 20″ x 10J all round. Check out the more pics below:

In other news Houston Motor Show is graced with the presence of the new US spec GT-R – fashionably late of course. Fox news did a small piece on it:

HKS 35th Anniversary: Mine’s R35 GT-R Laptime @ Fuji Speedway
Mine’s boss Niikura Michizo allowed Eiji “Tarzan” Yamada out in their R35 GT-R on Sunday at the HKS 35th Anniversary and he managed a 1:52 laptime around Fuji International Speedway. There is only room for improvement in this laptime, hopefully we will see further attempts soon.

Video: R35 GT-R Production Race Car Testing
GTR-World.net have posted this video of the R35 GT-R production race car in testing. It looks and sounds the goods. If this is what the V-Spec will be then this may be the first scoop video of the V-Spec driven in anger.
We first saw this car at Nismo festival in December 2007 where it created a lot of rumours about exactly what it was. Wearing what appeared to be Volk TE37 20″ wheels there were very few other signs about what had changed elsewhere on the car.
Hopefully we will keep you updated when we learn more.

Video: Best Motoring Tsukuba Lap Battle, Quarter Mile Test
In typical Youtube fashion these videos are uploaded just hours after we knew the video was even out. So feel free to watch these while you can but do us a favor and buy Best Motoring DVD’s if you’re able to so these guys keep making stuff like this!
As we said yesterday the car entry list for the 5 lap Tsukuba battle is:
- R35 GT-R
- Porsche 911 Turbo
- Porsche 911 GT3
- Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera
- Honda NSX Type R
Interesting battle I won’t spoil the result by posting it here.
[This video removed from youtube]
Next up is the 0-400m battle entered again by all cars with the GT-R only racing the fastest from the other races. Again I won’t spoil the result as it’s a good watch.
Nissan Revamps Tuning Parts Operations – Takes Light Tune Parts Away from Nismo
Following in the steps of the Nismo merchandising, which has already been manufactured and sold by Nissan since Oct 2006, Nismo’s light-tune parts business is now being handed back to parent company Nissan. Quoting the Nissan press release:
The revamp allows NISMO to focus on its core strengths and expertise to develop high-performance heavy-tune parts that cater to a dedicated customer base of tuners and racing enthusiasts.
The first Nismo tuner parts to be retailed by Nissan will be the Tiida S-Tune parts.
As for globalization of the Nismo business, Nissan remarks:
Nissan is also exploring expansion plans to overseas markets for its tuner-parts business.
Does this mean we will see S-Tune Tiida’s in other markets? Even on the showrooms of Nissan dealerships worldwide one day?
