Nissan’s Pre-Order Site Open for JDM Orders
Nissan’s online site for GT-R pre-order information is open and has a tantalising banner image of an undisguised GT-R obscured by shadows.
Hit it up to check it out. It’s all in Japanese unfortunately.
Spotted in Yokohama
New Nissan GT-Rs have been spotted and photographed on a truck by a keen GTR.co.uk forum member. These are some really good shots which have to be seen to be believed. Look at those huge brakes.

There have been some rumors on GTR blogs that the wheels and tires will be 21 inches unfortunately these don’t have enough visual detail to say either way.

GTRBlog.com Project Car: Part 1 – Pickup
GTRBlog.com is run by GTR enthusiasts and while we can?t buy a new Nissan GT-R just yet we have picked up an R33 GTR for a project which we?ll be building up in coming months.
The car is a fairly standard 1996 R33 GTR in QM1 white. The deal maker was that the previous owner had just spent $9,000 on rebuilding the motor after an unfortunate self service went wrong. Always check the sump plug kids.
So we have:
- CP forged pistons and rings 20 thou oversized
- Eagle H beam rods
- Tomei sump baffles
- Tomei rocker cover baffles
- Tomei metal head gasket
- Gates timing belt
- Reconditioned head
- Blue printed reassembly
- Nur coloured engine covers 😀
Engine Bay Pic:
Which is great because not only did he take care of the internals he also took care of the other items which normally require the engine to be removed such as sump baffles.
The car was picked up in Adelaide, South Australia and driven to Sydney nearl 1400 kilometers away over the weekend. The trip was uneventful to say the least while the car behaved perfectly. We discovered two minor problems on the way though:
- Starter motor is shagged
- Noise from front right tie rod bushes
The drive from Adelaide to Sydney crosses some of the flattest land I’ve ever seen:
As well as the fact that the installed 5zigen exhaust is the loudest thing I’ve ever driven. That will be the first thing to go!
So plans so far are:
- Repairs to starter motor and any suspension bushes that need replacing
- New exhaust
- More Power!
Stay tuned for part 2 coming up next!

– Global website goes live today –
Tokyo, Japan, (September 26, 2007) ? Nissan today started the pre-launch activities in support of the all-new GT-R, the high performance sports car to be revealed at the Tokyo Motor Show on October 24th. Central to the launch of GT-R, which will ultimately go on sale around the world, is a dedicated website that will provide all information on the car, including latest news, specifications and where to buy. The address for the website is www.gtrnissan.com and will be available in seven languages: Japanese, English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, and Dutch.
With sales due to start in Japan in December, Nissan is today also confirming the final name of the car. Previous generations of this car were known as the Skyline GT-R; the new name for this car is simply ?Nissan GT-R? in all global markets. Supporting substantial early customer interest in the Nissan GT-R, the company is today making available for customers in Japan some initial details including basic specifications, colors and practical information on placing pre-orders. Prices in Japan for the Nissan GT-R will start from around 7.8 million yen.
In support of the sale of the Nissan GT-R, the company also announced today the establishment of 160 Nissan High Performance Centers in Japan. These centers have been established to provide specialist sales and servicing support for customers of the Nissan GT-R.
