AutoWeek: First Review of the New GT-R
Those lucky guys over at AutoWeek have driven the GT-R and have a review up now for you to check out.
The most important details though are:
- Car was amazing, not over hyped
- Car was just ahead of the Porche 911 turbo which they drove back to back
- Turbos are from IHI, are small, and are integrated into the exhaust manifold
- 473 hp (352 kw) at 6400 rpm
- Peak torque from 3200 rpm – 5200 rpm
Plenty more juicy details to read. Follow the link below to the AutoWeek article.
Official Specs Released
The 2008 GT-R will officially come with a 3.8 litre V6 sporting twin IHI turbochargers making 473 hp (353 kw) and 438 ft-lbs (594 Nm) of torque. It puts this power to four wheels via the Borg Warner dual clutch GR6 6 speed paddle shift gearbox. This will be the only option for the transmission.
Doing to 0-100 km/h dash in 3.5 seconds and the standing quarter mile in 11.7 seconds makes this one hell of a package!
