Aeromotions Set to Launch New Ultra Performance Wing for Ultra Performing GT-Rs

May 17th, 2010

Demand for tougher aero that can stand up to the challenge of faster and faster GT-Rs is growing it seems so the active downforce pioneers over at Aeromotions have stepped up to the plate. They’ve gone back and tweaked the carbon blade on their R2 line of static and active wings for added strength.

Not only that but they’ve also been doing their homework when it comes to mounting the new version of the R2 wing. It now will mount in the standard wing’s location and cover the standard wing’s mounting with the plate feet. While you will have to drill a new hole on each side to properly fit the wing, this hole will also be covered up by the OEM wing should you have the need to swap back. Very neat and way better than swapping out the entire trunk lid or something. The R2.TWO dynamic wing also gets updates to the control system to make it simpler to mount.

The static R2, even this tougher better version, will continue to sell for just $1,699, check out the Aeromotions website for more info, linked below…

Hasemi Motorsports Add to GT-R Parts Lineup

April 23rd, 2010

Following on from their original subtle but purposeful range of aero parts we first saw in 2009, Hasemi has released a few new mild visual updates for the R35 GT-R.

First up is the Hasemi Sport Front Bumper Top Finisher, this nose spoiler gives the car an original look. It’s available in both carbon for 44,100 yen or FRP for 24,150 yen. Next is the Hasemi Sport Carbon Pillar Covers, this cosmetic item covers the outside of the GT-R’s a-pillar which is ordinary painted black. It’s 51,450 yen a set.

Lastly is Hasemi’s boldest visual update to the GT-R so far with a set of rear bumper vents they’re calling Hasemi Sport Tail Protectors. While not identical, these are similar to what Nordring did when they built their full carbon vented rear bumper. This is not a full bumper, but they are carbon fiber and a pair will set you back 69,300 yen.

Hit up the link below for their website or contact your nearest Hasemi Sport parts distributor for more information.

Update: High res images uploaded.

Top Racing HK Report from R35 Street Battle at ZIC in China

April 9th, 2010

The 27th and 28th of March was a big weekend for the GT-Rs around Hong Kong and China. For the first time ever, the R35 Street Battle was held at the Zhuhai International Circuit (ZIC) on the 29th and organized by the Hyper Zpeed Magazine. Many GT-Rs turned up for the event to see how fast they were able to go. Although there was a small drama on Saturday, one of the GT-Rs was severely damaged during practice, the race course was required to shut off for a while for clean up. It was a great day with nice sunshine, with an air temperature of 20 degrees and overall, it was proved to be an enjoyable event run smoothly.

Top Racing GT-R Professional Workshop also attended the event with their customers and became the spot light of the day. Since Top Racing had experience at Zhuhai International Circuit from previous trackdays, the track’s layout was well known to them. Since it was technically a Street Battle, Top Racing brought their street demo car up to ZIC to conduct the speed trial. This street spec car was able to manage a respectable 1:46.28 lap time and also set the highest top speed for the day of 244km/h at the end of the main straight. To top it off, on the very same night at the after battle dinner party, Top Racing GTR Professional Workshop won the Most Fashionable award, Quickest Lap Record award and the 2009 Media Best Tuner Gold award for their street demo car.

The Top Racing street demo car was equipped with the Willall Racing WR35MTT turbo setup which runs 1.1 bar of boost, HKS Hipermax III ZIC spec suspension, Tanabe sway bar, SSP radiator, Trust oil coolers for the engine and transmission, HKS Superior Spec R, Trust Intake Suction kit, HKS GT600 Kit, COBB Tuning AccessPORT, Dixcel R15 brake pads and SP FSC brake rotors. Also, in the transmission department it was equipped with the Dodson Motorsport mechanical circlips and FWD gear lock to ensure durability, as well as Willall Racing WR35CP clutch packs to ensure good bite while shifting gears.

What is special about this time out is a newly in-house designed aero kit which borrows concepts from the Nissan FIA GT1 spec race car. Not only does it give the GT-R a new aggressive look, but it could also decrease the engine oil, transmission oil and water temperature dramatically. This aero kit completely solves the usual temperature issues and allows the driver to drive their GT-R on the race track at full pace with peace of mind. The aero kit is made out of light weight, rigid dry carbon, and provides ducting to cool the front brakes down which helps solve the problem of brake over-heating. The new aero front bumper is also designed to give greater down-force and provide greater stability at high speed, add that to the fact that it reduces weight and you can see how it can improve handling. The kit reduces weight by 5kg in the hood, 5kg in the front bumper and under panels, 2.5kg in the rear bumper and 2.5kg in the rear trunk lid.

The Director of HKS product strategy management, Suguru Kobayashi, was also there on the day as a spectator, he was astonished with the cooling ability of this new aero kit and admired the quality and design. He is greatly interested in the aero kit, and in discussions with Top Racing, has requested a set for testing on the HKS R35 demo car.

Unfortunately, Top Racing’s race ready R35 “TR35” was unable to attend this event. The TR35 GT-R features an even more aggressive aero kit which provides for even wider front wheels. We are all anxious to see how well the TR35 will perform with the wide body kit on the race track.

So it was an enjoyable weekend at ZIC, everyone from Top Racing and their clients had fun and enjoyed the thrill of high speed on the race track, they are all looking forward to hitting the track again very soon.

Top Racing Hong Kong would like to take this opportunity to give a special thanks to the following:

  • Weave Carbon Series
  • HKS
  • Dodson Motorsport
  • TRUST
  • TANABE Japan
  • Willall Racing
  • TOYO

Do-Luck Carbon Honeycomb Front Diffuser System – Sneak Peek

April 8th, 2010

Here’s our first look at one of the best new Japanese carbon products to be produced for the GT-R yet. Do-Luck have enjoyed a stellar reputation for quality and innovation in their aero products for many years now and finally they’re turning their talents to the GT-R.

The Do-Luck front diffuser seen here is still a prototype mold but it gives you a solid idea of the features the final version will have. Firstly and most obviously you can see the aerodynamic shape of it is designed to give a needed boost to front downforce. Secondly, wide, integrated brake ducting channels feature prominently. This is important because many GT-R owners are putting that as one of the critical criteria for front diffuser selection.

As hinted in the title, the construction of the front diffuser will be a carbon fibre honeycomb for both strength and weight reduction. The front lip and under diffuser will be a single piece. The bottom plates that add the front spoiler sections on each side are then bolted on to finish it off.

All tallied, one would normally expect to pay a decent premium for something like this, JDM parts, carbon honeycomb? GT-RR have done some hard negotiating on your behalf and have the price down to around the $2595 mark.

Pre-orders available now for a May 2010 estimated ship date. Hit up the link below to secure yours now.

Esprit Dry Carbon Front Diffuser for Nissan GT-R

March 31st, 2010

Esprit have remained quiet for some time now on the development front but they’ve been busy behind the scenes. This front diffuser is the result of some hard R&D on the circuit where they found the ideal setup for front aerodynamics could be added on with relatively little fuss. It’s helped them to some fairly impressive laptimes @ Fuji Speedway as well.

The Esprit front diffuser replaces the GT-R’s standard front undertray with a dry carbon item. The diffuser channels air into the wheel arches for brake cooling and extends forward to offer more front downforce.

Almost all teams competing with GT-R’s in motorsports are finding additional front downforce helpful. The way they’re gaining it is, by and large, by adding front splitters and canards. This elegant solution may be welcome to those not wanting to DIY. Retail price is set at $3995.

Tommy Kaira Ebbrezza-R Aero Kit Version 2 Now Available

March 10th, 2010

More updates from Tommy Kaira this week, hot on the heels of their Ebbrezza-R global product launch they’ve released pricing on the version 2 kit. This kit will feature the exact same aggressive design as the original Ebbrezza-R GT-R we got our first look at earlier in the year but will be feature key pieces fabricated in FRP to drive down the overall cost.

You may recall that Tommy Kaira have recently switched their marketing strategy up so that customers can purchase any individual piece of the kit they desire, but they also make available groups of parts in sub-kits on top of the traditional full kit.

For the Ebbrezza-R GT-R Version 2, customers will notice that the following pieces are now made from FRP:

Part Ebbrezza-R Version 1 Ebbrezza-R Version 2
Front Under Diffuser Wet Carbon FRP
Side Step Kit FRP+Wet Carbon FRP
Rear Underspoiler Wet Carbon FRP
Rear Fender Arch Extension Wet Carbon FRP
* Full parts list in our previous post or at GT-RR.com

This brings the prices for the kit down overall a healthy amount, for example, for the Front Style Kit which includes the Front Bumper, Front Under Diffuser, Front Lip Spoiler, Front Grille Cover, and Side Ducts you’ll pay just 525,000 yen. Thats down over 100,000 yen versus the version 1 kit.

The price savings grow when you look at the Full Ebbrezza-R Aero Kit though which is down to just 1,260,000 yen in Japan ($13,950 in the US). A saving of 420,000 yen versus version 1!

Combine this with the new global distribution partners and I think we’ll see a few more Tommy Kaira Ebbrezza-R GT-Rs globally shortly!

Mine’s Release Pricing for Carbon Front Bumper for Nissan GT-R

March 6th, 2010

The GT-R’s front end is well designed for both cooling and aero purposes. It’s hard to improve on it but with enough dedication and application of sound principles and by putting a lot of thought into the design, the team at Mine’s did just that. The new Mine’s Dry Carbon Front Bumper which we debuted on GTRBlog in January is now ready and pricing has been released.

The bumper itself is priced at 890,000 yen minus the canards. The Mine’s Carbon Canard Type-II that integrate so well with the front bumper are priced separately at 160,000 yen. As a set the whole lot will be 1,050,000 yen in Japan.

On the topic of Mine’s they’ve also put together a FAQ sheet on the Mine’s power upgrades which are currently available. These upgrades aren’t factoring in the Mine’s Complete Engine or any other new power upgrades that may be in the pipeline.

These two sheets give details on what the upgrades consist of, the target power increases with a few technical details in there as well. There’s also a nicely formatted web version that is possibly easier to read.

Take a look at these sheets in the gallery below and head over to the Mine’s website to contact them if you have any more questions!

Tommy Kaira GT-R Aero Now Available Globally

March 4th, 2010

.

You probably remember that Tommy Kaira debuted one of the most impressive R35 complete cars ever recently at the Tokyo AutoSalon 2010. We got to check it out in the flesh and speak with Hiei Takayoshi-san, President of Tommy Kaira and found that the kit really was all it was cracked up to be and more. In person the parts easily lived up to the good reputation for quality Tommy Kaira has worked hard for all these years.

The good news is that now the whole world can enjoy these parts as the lineup has now gone on sale at a handful of select premium dealerships. Owners in the US and Middle East will be able to deal direct and exclusively with GTRBlog partners GT-RR.com for the kit.

Hit up their site for all the local pricing and more information, link is below. I’ll leave you with their press release and one of my favorite photos from TAS2010…

Link: Tommy Kaira Lineup @ GT-RR.com

GT-RR is proud to announce that Tommy Kaira has selected us as their exclusive distributor for North America and the Middle East.

Tommy Kaira last month debuted one of the most widely anticipated complete aerodynamic conversion kits for the GT-R. The car’s debut at Tokyo Auto Salon was regarded as a major success as reported by our friends at gtrblog.com and all over the internet as well.

This hot new kit is fully produced in Japan and is now finally available for purchase internationally!

Although we are exclusive for North America and the Middle East, we are also able to supply to all international regions except for Hong Kong (GP Motor) and Singapore (MB Motors).

We have worked closely with Tommy Kaira to ensure the most competitive possible pricing for these new products. All of our prices include all ends of the importation expenses which are often charged after the fact to unsuspecting buyers. In our pricing, all prices are “landed” (as always for us). Landed price means that they include: domestic freight in Japan, customs clearance fees, ocean freight to our US warehouse, customs clearance US side, import duties and taxes and final transportation to our warehouse in Los Angeles. The only additional expense is shipping from our warehouse to our clients.

The complete aero kit is of course available, but also we have offered everyone the possibility to buy any individual parts regardless of however big or small. This allows infinite customization possibilities.

Tommy Kaira’s aero parts are all very high quality and produced by their aero parts factory, whereas they have employed outside specialists for other items such as:

  • Brakes by Endless (a special Tommy Kaira version of the Racing Endless Mono-6 kit)
  • Exhaust by the same factory who produces for Amuse
  • Suspension by Quantum (a F1 parts supplier)
  • And small dry carbon protect parts by Carbon Dry Japan

As always we also offer international price matching to ensure that we are not only the safest and most reliable source, but also the best priced source for everyone worldwide.

We welcome your inquires and look forward to assisting Tommy Kaira to distribute these great new products.

Sincerely,
The GT-RR and Bulletproof AutomotiveTeam
