Adding to their growing range of cooling products, SSP launched this uprated VR38 engine oil cooler. This dual pass core features an include 6″ electric fan, custom alloy fittings and braided oil lines.
SSP is proud to announce the release of our new VR38 engine oil cooler. Now you can keep engine oil temps out of the red at the track, by as much as 30+ degrees. SSP designed this cooler with a top of the line dual pass cooler, 6″ high speed fan, custom fittings, and high pressure braided lines.
With track proven results, you can rest easy knowing that SSP’s new engine oil cooler will keep you out of the red.

More and more options for cooling off your GT-Rs GR6 DCT are making their way to market every month it seems but there’s been some quiet murmurs amongst owners that some aren’t performing quite as expected. SSP hope to change that with their new kit that offers track proven cooling performance to back it.
The kit includes a high quality Setrab core fed by a thermostat controlled pump, and a billet extended DCT oil pan that effectively increases transmission fluid volume.
Looking at availability starting June 7th, pre orders up now and the price is $2499.

SSP brings some serious new hardware to the table with the finalization of plans to build a billet transmission rear casing for the Nissan GT-R’s GR6 DCT gearbox.
The premise behind building a strengthened casing is multifaceted, I can think of a few obvious reasons to do it. Firstly to prevent losing transmissions due to casing failures. This has occurred in the past when casings crack under high torque loads. Secondly to prevent internal accelerate wear caused by components moving slightly when the casing twists under high torque loads.
This baby has been a long time coming and I remember chatting to SSP about it in Tokyo in 2008! So good on the guys to sticking with it.
The first cases should start cutting this week, expect to see more info soon…
This upgrade features a 14 disc upgrade which is claimed capable of supporting up to 1000lbft of torque. This enhanced torque capacity comes in part from the increase in discs over the standard 12 disc OEM clutches.
The upgrade clutch set also comes with Viton brand seals for the OEM clutch basket. The guys at SSP say with the Viton seals replacing the OEM type, the stock clutch basket setup should be good for up to the 1000 lbft mark. So unless you plan to launch the space shuttle into orbit with your car, I think you’ll be fine there.

When a big exhaust just isn’t enough, when you need to make maximum possible horsepower, and when you need to do all that and wake up people in the tri-county area you might want to check out SSP’s new mammoth 102mm exhaust.
Perfect for the track GT-R, this exhaust features 102mm diameter mandrel bent 304 grade stainless main section which branches into dual 76mm high flow mufflers on each side and finally into quad 127mm exhaust tips.
The guys use it on their record breaking drag GT-R so it’s certainly proven it can support the horsepower. It retails at $2,999.
Where there’s a problem there’s an opportunity must be the SSP moto because they’ve released another innovative product for the Nissan’s GR6 dual clutch transmission. A drop in replacement filter that claims to filter 90% more debris in the transmission than the standard screen.
With one transmission fluid being circulated through the gearbox protecting everything from the clutch packs to the gears, it can get contaminated pretty quickly. Upgraded fluids assist by lowering gear wear but there’s some logic in a replaceable filter.
SSP recommend replacement after 5,000 – 7,000 miles. I’d like to see some data after a few track sessions with oil analysis done, but for now it’s out there. At $219 a pop, if it proves to be a performer, this is something I can see being popular.
Southside Performance has added to it’s lineup of parts today with the pre-launch preview of the SSP Front Mount Intercooler upgrades for the GT-R. These are designed to mount in the standard location and utilize all standard mounting hardware for easy instalation.
Tech specs like core dimensions, performance improvement over standard are still to come. What we can tell you is the price. SSP will sell these for $2399 MSRP.
Southside Performance have put the finishing touches on their soon to be next product release, a fully billet aluminum intake manifold for the Nissan GT-R. The redesigned intake is said to free up quite a few horsepower over the GT-R’s standard intake but no firm details yet.
Expect a full product release shortly though, until then, enjoy the videos (second one after the jump) of the intake in action!
I’m surprised it’s taken this long to see a upgraded radiator for the GT-R but today SSP have a press release regarding exactly that.
Featuring a 1.5 inch core thickness, the SSP radiator is a full lightweight aluminum item that is designed as a direct replacement, straight fit upgrade for the GT-R.
Cooling the VR38 is of top priority for many owners who push their cars to the limit on the circuit and a radiator is logical place to start. Hit up the full press release after the jump…
The Nissan GT-R is a potent supercar for sure, but there are some notable tweaks that could be made that some people think may elevate its status again to ultimate motorsports weapon. One motorsport in particular that’s cause for concern is drag racing since the high torque loads that this sport subjects the GT-R’s transmission to are known to cause a component or two to come under some unusual stresses.
That’s the sort of thing that the guys at SSP have been thinking of for quite some time now and to that end, they’ve designed and machined these solid transmission mounts to assist coping with the loads the GT-R’s tranny sees. These are said to go some way
These solid trans mounts are CNC machined from solid aluminum and designed to be direct fit replacements for the OE rubber and liquid filled items. These mounts are available in two packages, a stage one including four mounts that remounts the transmission alone on solid mounts and stage two, a further four mounts, that replaced the upper liquid filled transmission mounts as well. There’s eight mounts in the total package.
This modification isn’t for everyone and it may not be suitable for your daily driven street car. You’ll see (well hear really) an increase in noise and vibration in the rear as everything is now solidly linked together. For those guys tracking the car more regularly they’re worth considering.
