KC Racing of Hong Kong’s KCR35 Challenger: 690hp Haltech Powered Nissan GT-R

September 16th, 2009

Inspired by Nismo’s own GT500 spec racing cars in SuperGT, Hong Kong based KC racing have built their GT-R with the goal of taking it racing. The extreme looking GT-R is also a demo car for a range of locally made aero parts from Topmix International which we hadn’t seen until now.

So far they’ve just finish tuning the car and have taken it out to Zhuhai International Circuit (ZIC) just across the pond in China. That day they managed a 1:47.9 minute lap in the 40 degree heat with the boost lowered to around 1.2bar (vs. 1.37bar) due to the lack of great fuel. In this configuration it’s still good for 570ps.

This is one original looking GT-R. Interesting to see the Topmix front bar and just how much airflow it allows to the dual engine oil relocated intercoolers. This lets the primary radiator breath a lot better. Function over form for sure.

Hey! I’m from Hong Kong and have a red R35, I know the owner of this car. The two side coolers are the intercoolers, they put them on the outside so the radiator gets fresh air. Oil coolers are located now where the stock exhaust is supposed to be, also means the exhaust is moved to the middle right above the diffuser

Thanks Adderly, I’m interested to know anything else you know about the car!

Hey Kris, I don’t know much more about the car at the moment. I know the front bumper costs HKD$8200 against a stock one which is HKD$15000 approx. Also theres a magazine by the name of HyperZpeed, where this GT-R was advertised to put out 630.9hp at the wheels. Apparently this magazine is going to host a time attack weekend sometime in March which is mostly targetted at R35 GT-R’s, dunno if you knew that but heres a head up. Apart from that, you have pretty much listed all the stuff, and thats it really. It’s just stripped bare inside

This car makes 195ps more than stock. the stock dyno laid down 431ps and the final made 626.9ps. They arrived at 690 by multiplying by 1.1

compare the stock dyno runs here: http://www.dragtimes.com/Nissan–GT-R-Dyno-Sheets.html?resultpage=2
i would say there dyno does run a bit high in comparison.

kris you can get alot more pictures and info from there news pages: http://www.kcracing.com.hk/news.asp?show_page=1 there is alot there.

Nice; I came across a 600+ bhp GTR here in the UK which was the first to run a 10 sec 1/4 mile, running 10.8.

All he did was upgrade the ecu…

It would be great to see how it does out on track. Whats the Time attack/Gtr scene like out in Hong Kong?

quickNick… i dunno if that guy was lying or what. no one has done 600+bhp with just ecu. can you please find the baseline dyno to see the differnce in hp? that will tell the true story. plus i havent seen anyone run 10.8 without alot of mods done to the car including ecu. sounds like a not true unless they post the proof.
