Nissan GT-R FIA GT Spec Race Car Spied

December 26th, 2008

Nissan have recently been testing their latest race car prototype which is most likely for the FIA GT racing at circuits in Japan. Above we can see a photo of the car testing at Fuji Speedway. AutoSport magazine with another set of spy pics also just hit news stands in Japan.

Some of the obvious changes we see hint at some significant upgrades. Front bumper is replaced with a carbon item with a more aggressive splitter, the front fenders are flared out and built from carbon as well. The wide body continues along the side skirts to the rear quarters which are bulked out and vented for the rear brakes.

Giant AP Racing brakes from the SuperGT series cars find there place behind the Rays forged aluminium wheels which are also taken straight from SuperGT. The rear wing is also a new GT spec item which may have some relation to it’s SuperGT cousin.

I haven’t got myself a copy of this magazine yet so when I do later today I’ll update on anything else I missed.

no, this is a V8 na. no offical information has released yet. but its definaly a v8 and definatly a manual gearbox to save weight. this car will be RWD 100%. those are the facts that we know, plus the pictures explain some facts too.

    hello guys

i thinght that nissan dont run in le mans ,is beacause the car dont have suficient test it the car.if they run ,and win ,is a graet car the mighty gtr .bla bla etc etc.but if dont win and dont have, a suficient result like second or thrird place.or dont finish the race.problaby the nissan quit the project.
the nissan run first in fia gt ,and if the car win races then goes tho le mans.
remenber the spetacular r390 gt1? THEY RUN IN LE MANS IN 1997? they run very fast ,but the gearbox of the car ,dont finish the race .only one finish the race in 10th place.
in 1998 the same car thont have any problems it the gear box ,but the car is not vary fast.
but the perfect car is the audi is fast and resistent.
if nissan make a car like the audi and use pilots like micheal shumammcer and team maneger like jean todt is beacause jean todt run it datsun 240z in the ealys 70s in the monaco rally.
i thinght that my opinion is correct.
