The Clean Look – What’s The Verdict?

September 29th, 2008

A few photoshops of things like this were getting around but here is a real live GT-R with no spoiler. Sporting a Mine’s exhaust and BBS LM-DBK 20″ limited edition wheels as well, this GT-R is certainly a sight to behold.

Notice also the tinted rear reflectors and the Nissan badge removal.

From some angles it’s a “maybe” for me although I’m well aware it completely ruins the aerodynamics that Nissan worked for years to perfect.

Have your say in the comments…

That guy should be shot. no way would i add any aftermarket horse power (be it exhaust or whatever) and remove that rear spoiler. that is stupid. mabe add more downforce or compensate for it. but this is just retarded.

looks good from what i can see. but the wing on the car is supposed to be functional so the guy is losing performance. but if he doesnt mind losing some performance i guess it doesnt matter.

I think it looks great without the wing. Also considering this guy probably isn’t visiting the track every weekend I’m sure he won’t be at much of a loss. Not a fan of the deep dish wheels, I like BBS wheels without any lip.

its beautiful, call him or his decision whatever, but its his decision and his money…

its a clean look, i like it and to each his own

as far as taking away from the aerodynamics, i doubt most gtr drivers reach the threshold that it would matter much

It’s definitely unique which is what I like. I think black is probably the best colour to try this with as well.

Maybe some different wheels would set it off. Love to see it on stock black painted wheels.

i totally agree that it would look better on stock wheels but each to their own… good idea… unique…

BBS wheels look a lot better in person than in photos. Just like the car. It’s a strange thing.

Not sure what you guys are talking about. Am I the only one that thinks the wing look like shit. It’s about time someone yanked it off. If you feel compelled to believe you need downforce back there going 120 mph, then put a fucking lip on the rear deck and still smoke any ride on the streets. The last thing anyone should want is a stock ride, or even worse, a big ass gt wing for “better performance.”
That car looks clean as fuck. Drop it a bit more, and put some spacers on it to make the rims a bit more flush. Deep dish BBS’s look good on any car. Friends don’t let friends drive stock! tasteless haters

Looks clean but have to admit, needs some aero back there. Bigger the better!

    looks really good!
no spoiler to ruin the nice lines.
if youre not going to the track every day and not doing high speed runs every day then its not needed

Probably – given there was only 100 sets made.

I’m sure BBS will be making another set of wheels for the GT-R once these sell out. Probably not in LM-DBK colour with the red center caps though.

Well.. This car could suck on the track.. But in the straigt line?? Less aero-resistance… I think this could help to a BIT higher top speed.. I don’t know? But it looks great..

    Regards..

Even the best functional spoilers don’t really help you unless you are going over 60mph. So unless he was going to use it as a track car it wouldn’t be doing anything for him. Spoilers on street cars are all most always useless in real world situations. They are bling for cars and bling is dumb.
