Nismo R35 GT-R Tuning Packages to Debut August 20th

August 3rd, 2008

Nissan Motorsports International Co., Ltd. (NISMO) is set to unveil the latest additions to it’s catalog later this month when they announce the availability of the new Nissan R35 GT-R tuning packages. In typical Nismo style, tuning parts will be made available in upgrade packages with features optimised with specific goals in mind. Upgraded street spec tunes to circuit focused packages will be available. The official announcement is expected on the 20th of August.

Many of the upcoming Nismo parts are based off prototypes engineered at Nismo’s headquarters and main workshop, Omori Factory just outside Tokyo. This will not be the first car Nismo have tuned here, it’s following the well worn path left for it by cars such as the Nismo 400R R33 GT-R and the epic R34 GT-R Z-Tune. These parts will have been tested to the limit during the recent 15th annual Tokachi 24hr endurance race in Japan when Nismo entered a production spec car upgraded with Nismo prototypes.

We’re expecting wheels, carbon aero parts, exhaust, upgraded cooling, ECU updates and more but expect further details to come to light as we get closer to the date. In the meantime check out the photo galleries from the Tokachi 24hrs to see what the possibilities are.

No release from Nismo although they’ve at the last minute announced plans for a huge booth at Suzuka on the weekend.

I wonder if something will be available there or just prior to.
