Zele Carbon Fiber Engine Cover

To add to their long list of Nissan R35 GT-R tuning parts, Zele have today announced their latest addition. The dry carbon fiber engine cover for VR38DETT. This enters a market competing with existing products from companies such as Arios at a higher price so quality is key.

Retailing at 136,000 yen ($1,300 USD) the carbon engine cover will be available from August 8th.

What this car needs is more hardcore CF parts that will matter. This whole front skirt lip badges and engine covers are getting rediculous

as much as I like CF stuff but a few grand for a cover is a little too extreme. Why not just leave the cover off and save ALL the weight.

Unfortunately the engine cover price is higher. Arios only want 84,000 yen. I have seen Zele parts in the flesh but not Arios parts so I can’t make a direct comparison right now.

It takes time to get the bigger parts made in CF but hood and trunk lid are already made for Nismo’s R35 and I’m certain other tuners aren’t too far behind on that front.

Now that the car is available in the US tuners will be racing to get these more common items out quickly and probably at decent prices too.

i have seen the quality and its very nice. the arios is not as good, but its still nice. arios has some painted carbon fiber engine covers that look really nice tho! kind of a japanese thing tho. i would consider others even better quality, but i would say this is really great for the price, hence the quality. HKS kansai also have an engine cover and its even nicer in my opinion, tho i have only seen them in pictures, i have seen kansai stuff in person and they are great products.

This piece of CF is for pure show, the weave looks perfect to me.

Seems like every tuner is trying to pump out whatever mod they can as fast as possible to capture the market of the first few batches of GTRs. Let’s hope one of them gonna come out with some high quality CF bonnet and trunk soon, that’s what the GTR really need!
