Shizuoka Hobby Show 2008 This Week – Nissan GT-R Model Debuts Aplenty

May 13th, 2008

The annual Shizuoka Hobby Show kicks off Thursday for industry and invited guests and on display this year will be all the latest in Nissan GT-R models and RC cars in all forms. The hobby show runs from Thursday – Sunday but is open to the public on Saturday and Sunday only.

Already we know that Ebbro and Tamiya have their models ready and will most certainly be on display and possibly for sale at the show. On top of that we see that Kyosho have prepared their 1/10th scale RC Nissan GT500 Super GT GT-R cars for the show as well. Other manufacturers debuting their Nissan GT-R models are Aoshima (1:24th scale plastic model) and HPI Racing (1:43rd scale resin model).

Today got a sneak peak at the Kyosho RC cars and as usual they look quality. These 1:10th scale RC cars feature 2 stroke engines, 4WD belt drives and 2 speed auto transmissions!

Today it seems like the only cool thing is video games. When you point out a Hobby like Model Trains, Rockets or Airplanes. The kids think it’s a joke. It’a all about skill with a video game I’m told, but most kids today do not have the simple skill to build a simple snap together model car…why? You have somthing to show when your done…video game…a High score? Just go out side with a classic hobby like this and have fun?
